Recontextualisation
Reshaping Healing
I do believe complex PTSD and anxiety can be healed and it takes a lifting off of our inner veil. It will be the going within to all we have feared and looking at the triggers and examining them.
When we understand the role of the amygdala and our fight, flight, and freeze responses and why we are in a current predicament we can begin to decondition the areas that cause us pain and replace them with new knowledge and actions.
Persistence will be the key and also the conscious awareness that we are doing is healing. When we see our upsets and know we are healing them they lose power over us. Reframing and recontextualising painful events can happen in seconds or take years. We need to know we are doing this work even on our not-so-good days.
Remember to remind yourself on not-so-good days "I am healing". This will mean any anger, rage or hurts that come up are actually a benefit to us when we are aware of what our direction is.
Healing is not all or nothing and we can live better lives.
Much Love, Penelope
